BFSC is honored to bring to the Atlanta area boating community the speaker for our July General Meeting on Monday, July 23rd, Captain Pauline Cook, Deputy Director of Marine Transportation Systems, Commandant, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters. Captain Cook has had extensive on-the-water command experience with the Coast Guard, as well as many years of safety management and oversight at different major ports around the US.
As Deputy Director, she is now responsible for oversight of 12 mission areas, or programs, within the Coast Guard. Some of the mission areas she will be talking about include waterways management, current initiatives in visual and electronic aids to navigation, offshore wind / alternative energy development and its potential impact on recreational boating and commercial shipping, and the Coast Guard's work with NOAA and the National Marine Fisheries Service on Right Whale sightings / reporting. We will conclude with a Q&A period.
Please join us at Nemoe’s Tavern & Grille, at 6025 Peachtree Parkway, in the Peachtree Corners area in Norcross, GA, for socializing beginning at 6 p.m. and a delightful buffet dinner at 7, followed by the program at 8 .
Costs per person for the buffet dinner are as follows (includes tax and tip, but not drinks – this is a GREAT VALUE!!):

Non-members $19.00
Program only - no dinner Free, but limited availability
Seating is strictly limited in the meeting room, so we strongly encourage everyone interested to RSVP early (click on one of the links below), to avoid being disappointed. There is no charge to attend just the program, but pre-registration is required to ensure your admission to this event. Seating for those attending the program only, with reservations, will begin at 7:45 p.m. The deadline to RSVP is Noon Thursday, July 19th.
If you show up for dinner without reservations, there may be a few seats available, with prices as follows, payable at the door by cash or check (includes tax and tip, but not drinks):

Non-members $25.00
